- answer questions about regions of the United States using various types of maps
- use geographic tools to identify, locate, and describe the influence of accessible resources on the development of local and regional communities throughout the United States

◦ Use different geographic tools to locate and describe different locations and regions 
◦ Suggest reasons for their location 
- compare human and physical geography- in general and in the community
- factors that make a region unique- cultural, diversity, industry, agriculture, and landforms
- identify different regions and states of the United States
- within each region, describe and discuss different types of features such as physical, political, cultural, urban, and rural
- identify geography-based problems and examine the ways that people have tried to solve them
