- reproduction is essential for a living thing to continue to exist over time
- plant structures involved in plant reproduction
- the steps of plan reproduction
- the different patterns of animal development: direct development, complete metamorphosis, incomplete metamorphosis

By the end of the unit, students will be able to:
- create a model of flowering plant life cycle
- create a model of an animal life cycle, including direct development, incomplete metamorphosis and complete metamorphosis
- compare and contrast the life cycles of plants and animals
