By the end of the unit, students will know:

 

- Weathering is the breaking down of Earth's surface
- Erosion is when rocks and soil are carried away
- Water, wind, and ice cause weathering and erosion
- erosion cannot be prevented but it can be reduced
- some events change Earth's surface very slowly while others occur very quickly
